Excitement Builds as Work Progresses on Multimillion-Pound Greyhound Track at Dunstall Park

Momentum is building at Dunstall Park, where significant progress has been made on the multimillion-pound investment to introduce a brand-new greyhound track within the existing horse racing track.

At our recent stakeholders meeting at Wolverhampton Racecourse updates were met with enthusiasm and positive feedback from owners, trainers, and staff, all eager to see the transformation take shape. The Monday evening gathering also served as an update on ARC’s ambitious plans, with attendees briefed on the latest developments.

The construction is well underway, with work on a brand-new, purpose-built kennel block nearing completion. The impressive facility will house 116 kennels—primarily arranged in a two-tier format—and is expected to be finished within the next two to three weeks.

On the infield, ground was broken just two weeks ago to begin shaping what will soon become the newest greyhound track in the country.
Full track construction is now underway, with a projected completion time of around three months.

Mark Spincer, Managing Director of ARC Racing, expressed his excitement about the development:
“We’re looking forward to it—we’ve got the experts to build it and the experts to deliver it,” he said, adding that the project is currently about two weeks ahead of schedule.

Trials are expected to begin by mid-August, with regular racing planned for Monday mornings, Wednesday evenings, Thursday afternoons, and Friday evenings once the venue opens later this year.

This marks a significant step forward in ARC’s ongoing investment in UK greyhound racing and will bring a new era of racing to Wolverhampton.

Here’s a closer look at the meeting and the latest progress on construction.
